Corycaeus sp, a predaceous copepod with a truly sophisticated visual system that consists of two pairs of lenses. The inner lens pair moves and scans the image formed by the outer lenses. The light is focussed onto receptors, dark stalk-like structures beyond the inner lenses. The system may act as a light amplifier.
