Protists are unicellular organisms that are neither plant nor animal. Here we see the archetype protist Amoeba proteus catching prey by engulfing it with pseudopods. Although amoebas are fairly common not many people have seen them. They are very transparent and easy to overlook. They don't look much like an actual organism. But amoebas are not just shapeless blobs. Many types can be found.
