Fig.1 is a slide by W.A. Firth of the genus Asteromphalus.
You will not be surprised to learn the species name is arachne. Fig.2
is a slide by J.D. Möller of Triceratium. Möller is
well known for his type slides of diatoms mounted between the
years 1886-1890 including the 'Universum Diatomacearum
Moellerianum', Diatom Type Plate with 4026 species,
varieties and forms completed in April 1890.
I am very grateful to Barry Miller of the USA for the information
on J.D. Möller.
